AUDRE

Old warbirds, still airworthy.  There are few things I love more than old airplanes, especially World War II era.  These planes come in for a week or so each year and stay at Moffett Field.  You can go in them and climb all over the place and if you throw down a small fortune they will even give you a ride in one.  I don't know what it is about these planes that draws me in, just machines from a simpler time I guess. Big and mean looking, all form AND function.  Huge engines hung off the wings and giant barrelled machine guns sticking out of nearly every opening.  I often think about the camaraderie that the crews of these war machines must have shared.  Sometimes I wish I could have experienced something like that myself.
